An idea by South Burnett businessmen – and motorcycle enthusiasts – Mark Smith and Rod Steele means the South Burnett is going to have its own version of the “Red Boot Ride” this weekend.

The “real” Red Boot Ride is being held on Sunday, August 4, as a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald Houses in south-east Queensland.

It will start at Gasoline Alley Harley Davidson in Slacks Creek and motorcycle riders will travel via Boonah to O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley Vineyards.

The South Burnett version will begin at noon in Murgon on Saturday (July 27) and then head to the Hivesville Hotel for lunch.

The riders will then head to Goomeri and Maidenwell before returning to McDonald’s Family Restaurant in Kingaroy.

Entry cost is $25 and all funds will be donated to the Red Boot Ride.

All motorcycle riders interested in taking part are invited to meet at the BP Roadhouse at Murgon before noon on Saturday.
